Marjorie Taylor Greene just wants chaos. After filing a motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson, there really is no other way to describe her move. It's radical, chaotic, but also highly detrimental to her party and even herself.
The last time MAGA Republicans decided to file a motion to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the House went into complete mayhem. They tried to get Jim Jordan to become their new Speaker but failed miserably. Mike Johnson was finally elected as Speaker after weeks of turmoil, internal division and lots of media coverage.
But it really says something about just how radical Marjorie is, and MAGA for that matter, when an already pretty radical speaker, who has constantly blocked aid to Ukraine, has a very radical anti-abortion stance, and who bend the knee to Donald Trump by visiting him at Mar-a-Lago (something that has become ritual to Republicans since Trump became their supreme leader), is still not good enough for her and the MAGA cult.
A motion to vacate during an election year, and when House Republicans already have a slim majority that is currently collapsing, is just plain negligence. But hey, maybe Marjorie is a planted D.C. operative who was sent to destroy the Republican Party, right? In her most recent interview, Marjorie explained that this motion should serve as a "warning" until Republicans can come up with a more effective Speaker. It seems like the MAGA Republicans are just completely unwilling to have any bipartisanship in Congress, and anyone willing to even negotiate with the Democrats will be removed.
With current early retirements by House Republicans like Ken Buck and Mike Gallagher, the Republican House majority is hanging by a thread, and if they continue to go down this path of self-destruction, it could be the Democrats holding the House before the November election even happens.
Is Marjorie out of control?
Duh.
She's plotting.
It maks no difference.
